Qantas Pathfinders is one of Australia’s most successful volunteer fundraising committees, raising funds to support NextSense (formerly RIDBC). Through various fun and unique annual events, the charity has raised over $8.3 million since they began in 1967. Qantas Pathfinders members are a dedicated group of present and past Qantas Cabin Crew, Pilots, ground staff and friends. Each year Qudos Bank is a proud sponsor of the Qantas Pathfinders Revue – a hilarious live musical featuring fabulous singing, dancing and a live band, showcasing the fun side of the airline industry.
The Australian and International Pilots Association (AIPA) is a professional association that represents over 2600 domestic and international pilots that occupy the flight decks of the Qantas Group aircrafts. AIPA provides their members with Legal and Industrial advice on many matters, runs a Welfare department dealing with all aspects of pilots’ wellbeing, provides additional Safety & Technical training to their members and runs support groups such as the AIPA Women’s Group. They have a team of dedicated professionals who look after their members’ interests.
Each year Qudos Bank supports AIPA through financial wellness information and through the AIPA Retiree dinner which celebrates the achievements and commitments of Pilots.
Uplift was established by a group of Pilot representatives in Sydney to support NSW pilots under such serious financial pressure that it is affecting their own and their family's wellbeing.
On a global scale, aviation remains one of the industries that was first and most profoundly impacted by COVID-19 and it is expected to be one of the last industries to fully recover. Most pilots have been stood down unpaid and are not flying.
Typically pilots have the financial security to weather the storm, but there are some, particularly those who have newly joined the company, who do not.
Uplift provides a way for those who can spare a little, to help those under financial stress to the extent their wellbeing is significantly affected.
